What Personal Data is Collected

Data about a parent/carer and their child/children is collected to provide the best level of care for the child/children during their time at the dance academy. This is also so that attention can be given to cater to any specific individual needs.

• Personal data collected about the child/children include:

Full name, age, date of birth, gender, any medical needs/allergies/previous injuries that might affect them whilst dancing and any details of previous dance experience.

• Personal data collected about the parent/carer include:

Full name, address, postcode, home/mobile/work phone numbers, email address and emergency contact details.

• This information is requested and collected from you when you first join the dancing academy (you can change/update/add to your details as necessary).
• With the parent/carer’s consent the dancing academy requests the photography and filming of their child/children (only for the purposes of a show or advertising the dancing academy on the website, press and social media).

Why we Collect this Information and the Basis of Handling Personal Data

Personal data is requested when a registration form is completed upon first joining the dancing academy. Personal data can be requested again at any time but will be disposed of in accordance with data protection laws.

The registration form personal data is used to:

• contact in case of an emergency (it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to keep their personal data shared with the dancing academy up to date).
• to manage communication/information sharing between the dancing academy and the parent/carer (via telephone and email).
• to provide the best support for the parent/carer and their child/children

Stored personal data is retained for the duration that the parent/carer and their child/children is involved with the dancing academy and is kept according to data protection laws and is not shared.


This website utilizes industry standard analytics packages which gathers limited information on visitors to our website automatically, and stores this anonymous information in server log files.
